Oh my god!!! I did it!!! Oh wait I didn’t……………err teacher?
The sum was not that hard, or so I thought because as I finished it I declared myself correct shouting out the announcement of me actually solving a problem in math at the first go. But woe behold I was about to learn the hard way that my answer was totally wrong. Wait till I tell you about this, you’ll end up on the floor laughing your head of. Since I seemed so enthusiastic about math for once, my teacher asked me to step forward to the board and do the sum. I did the sum and everybody started laughing. Bewildered I checked for any careless mistakes but baffled I found none. I did not realize that the source of my fellow classmates’ amusement was the fact that I had done the wrong worksheet. Even the teacher was snickering away trying to hide her teeth by putting a hand to her mouth.
Oh the irony, the embarrassment, the comedy but that’s the price you pay, is suppose, if you do not pay attention. I guess I’ll end up paying this price all through secondary school life.

Certain things are best done alone
Let me give an example. Just picture this: I'm sitting in front of the television set with a cold bottle of water beside me and the controller of my gaming console in my hand. Next thing I know my brother steps in and asks me to turn off my console and let him watch television. During my period of distraction my game is ruined. How much more frustrating can it get? And do I even need to tell you that I pounce onto my brother until I'm convinced that I have beaten him senseless.
So just to make things clear, I'm not some nerdy kid who draws the curtains close and glues his eyes to the gaming screen, unable to tell the difference between reality and virtual world. In fact I'm the kind of person who’s quite adept at video games but only plays it once or twice a week, if time permits. But! When I do get this time, I will not let any force on earth to stop me from this freedom, except my mum and dad.
So face it I love playing video games, I enjoy them but I prefer to play alone. Although I do not mind people watching me play something like FIFA 10, it gives me more confidence to see my ‘fans’ cheering me on.

Floor ball!!! Super awesome sport……but I am a failure at it…..sad
It was sometime during the month of May or was it April? Either way it was sometime in summer. Okay enough beating around the bush let me get to the point. I was supposed to stay back in school for this dinner with some exchange students. Actually the whole C division cricket team had to stay back. Now it just happened to be that a floor ball match was taking place at Victoria School. Since I had nothing to do and I had no intention of going back home, I decided to be a spectator at the match.
Now generally I did not know nuts about floor ball, because I had only played a bit of hockey in Pakistan. Although floor ball and hockey to seem similar in certain aspects of the play. So that’s probably the reason why I dragged myself to the third level gallery and watch the match below. But I am really glad I did, because if I had not then I would have never developed a passion for this beautiful game. Now I'm not gonna waste my time in telling you the rules and regulations of this game, if you are interested in knowing them then I suggest you FIND THEM YOURSELF.
Okay now about the game. Obviously since I got such inspiration from the game VS won and by a good margin as well. 5-2 was the score I think if my memory serves me right. It was pretty amazing how the fellow Victorians made the opponents utterly bamboozled by their skills and talents. Oh yeah! You’re probably wondering about the dinner now. Well it was okay I guess but the food was too Indian. Haha, maybe I was a bit racist their but I don’t enjoy the south Indian food that much.

Unplanned outings!!!!!!! Don’t you just love them?
Today was a great day! And by great I mean great!!! Not only did I enjoy my time but I did it with my friends and family. Let me start from the beginning. It all started at 12.30 pm; my parents were picking me up from my mother tongue school. I was of course the one who suggested the idea in the first place….of course. My dad was talking to some of his friends when I proposed the idea. Even though he seemed reluctant, this other super cool uncle agreed straight away. And obviously my dad gave in to his persuasion. So it was decided that all of us, four families in total, shall meet at East Coast Park at 2.30. Not much was required, all we had to do was to go home bring whatever food we had with us and then meet as soon as possible.
Once the company had gathered, we started our super awesome hullabaloo. I and a few friends of mine went to play soccer in an open field, while the adults sat down on the cool grass to reflect on the week’s happenings. After playing soccer for at least an hour and a half the kids returned to the spot where the adults had already started on lunch. After lunch us kids went on to play in the water for a while, on the other hand the adults took a walk on the cool, damp, invigorating sand. Since the day was comfortably warm the water was very inviting.
After the quick swim it was already 7 pm. Ok maybe it wasn’t that quick. Most of us still weren’t ready to go home yet and so we had a unanimous vote to go bowling. The only problem was that none of us had brought spare clothes! Never the less fortune favours the brave and so we decided to go home and change to new apparel and meet at the bowling alley. And will you believe my luck that after bowling for hours I still went to eat ice cream at Changi airport. All in all returning home at 4 am is all the excitement you can ask for………..right?
Note: if you do not agree don’t bother answering.

CRICKET………AN INTERESTING SPORT ONCE YOU GET TO KNOW IT
Even though hardly anyone in Singapore follows this sport, let alone plays it, it is still an extremely popular sport on the global level. Many people are ignorant of this extremely interesting sport. It is obvious that most residents of Singapore are soccer-crazed fans and are thus totally oblivious to the fact that many countries have both soccer and cricket fans. Just take a look at England. It has a very accomplished soccer team and at the same time they are quite good at cricket. In fact the English started the game in the first place. Although the English started the game, surprisingly they have never won a world cup championship! The game is actually dominated by the Australians.
Now about the game; cricket like a number of other team sports consists of eleven players. There are two sides in each game. One team bats first while the other bowls. The batting team’s objective is to score as many runs(points) as possible in a limited amount of time; 50 overs(an over is completed when a bowler bowls six times without committing any foul). The runs are achieved by hitting the ball with the bat and then running to the other side of the pitch. If a player of the fielding side manages to catch a ball without letting it bounce first the batsmen is out. If ten batsmen get out then the batting side has to switch with the bowling/fielding side. Now the fielding side’s objective is to score the runs as fast as possible, while the previous batting side tries to restrict them to a minimal.
I am fully aware that most of you, who read this post, would probably be bamboozled by all these rules, which might not even make much sense to you. But please people, seriously wake up! Soccer is not the only freaking sport in the world. Stop being so ignorant! Appreciate all sports. Just imagine if your parents were to move to Australia and then you would find all the students talking about cricket while you try search for someone who cares about soccer. What then?! Hunh?
And yes, I know that I hardly explained much about the sport, but don’t tell me you didn’t get the message I was trying to convey to you.
P.S: if you really did not get the message, I suggest you see a doctor or better yet a psychiatrist.

My Thoughts On Why Students Fail To Do Homework..............Well Atleast I Do
This is what i came up with after thinking for two hours...........if only i spent that much time thinking about how to do my homework. But then again...if only.
The world is full of too many distractions. How is a kid, supposed to do his homework when he’s surrounded by these distractions? I for one think that doing and moreover completing my homework is tougher than passing my NAPFA. Getting me to actually sit down and start on my homework is a huge problem in the first place. On a typical day without any CCA or any other reason for staying back in school I return home at 3 pm the earliest. I prefer to take a bath and then eat lunch, which usually takes 45 minutes at the very least. After this I obviously wouldn’t want to start on my homework straight away so I just ‘slack’ for a while. Most students my age have a cell phone; and if I have a cell I obviously receive messages. Now like most NORMAL people I reply to these messages and my cell is with me all the time except when I’m in the toilet. The statement “with me all the time except when I’m in the toilet” includes when I’m doing my homework. So, if I do happen to receive messages I spend time replying to them. Unlike most students, I prefer to do my work after nine. I shall fill you in from the “I just ‘slack’ for a while” part. My ‘slacking’ isn’t just lazing around for a few minutes and then getting on with life, it’s periodical ‘slacking’, meaning I laze around after every one hour or so of any kind of work, even if its entertainment. Usually I use the computer everyday at least for an hour. Watching television for an hour or two is also mandatory. Doing certain house chores sadly is a must as well. With all these things I basically get only one, one and a half hours at the most. Now with further distractions and my periodical ‘slacking’ I end up with 45 minutes for homework. How am I supposed to do that in so little time?!
